I’m working on an iPhone app

It’s going to be a take on something familiar – I think you’ll like it.

So far I’ve been having fun with:

  • Pulling a cross domain JSON file (can’t do it with XML I discovered) into my app
  • Experimenting with jQuery and $.ajax
  • Using some of HTML 5’s cool new features like LOCAL SQL STORAGE! (Can you believe it???!! Very handy)

I’m hoping to use Phone Gap to compile all my hardwork into a native app, so hopefully Apple doesn’t mind. I’m going to probably submit it by this time next week.

Stay tuned for more updates! Maybe even a sneak preview – email me if you want one.

New Blog Theme

Occasionally I change my theme, and, while I know that you can see perfectly well what it looks like now, I like to include a blog post and a picture, for posterity. So here it is.

So what do you think? Do you like it? Better or worse than my last theme?

Latest Project – Top Secret (Door)

So here’s the idea for my latest project. It’s top secret. Don’t tell anyone, okay?

I know this doesn’t make a terrible lot of sense, but that’s all part of the mystery.

Don\'t tell anyone.

What do you think?

I’m not into colour.

Colour SpectrumHere’s a tip, from someone who is still learning.

If you don’t like something about yourself, nobody else will. That’s just the way it goes.

For example, I used to hate the fact that I have to have everything white and nice and symmetrical and neat. Look at my blog for example.

For months I tormented over choosing a colour theme, but I just couldn’t bring myself to decide on one colour. I couldn’t have blue, because it means I’m not red. I needed a single, all-encompassing colour that doesn’t promote any sort of colour bias.

What makes a good blogger?

FluffyA friend of mine recently told me that though they read my wife’s blog, they don’t really ever read mine.

When asked why, the response was that Talia writes about fluffy, gossipy, fun stuff, while I write boring ideas about life, the universe, and everything like that.

So, I asked myself the question – what makes a good blogger? And I’ve come up with these five answers.
