2007 Goals

thumb39While I was moving, I found a piece of paper hidden in an inconspicuous position.

On it, were the goals I’d written at the start of the year for 2007.

1. Earn 100,000.

I don’t really see this happening, especially because I haven’t been focused on it. Now that it’s March, earning a large amount is no longer a priority. Instead, my priority is to pay for everything I need for the wedding / honeymoon, and then find a comfortable wage that gives me more time at home and less time at work.

2. Start a trading account by March.

It hasn’t happened – and I’m glad it hasn’t. I’m not ready to begin trading. I have a trading plan on the SPI200, that works, but I need to practice a bit more before I start putting real dosh into it.

I will start trading before the end of the year though, just probably not in the way I expected to when I wrote this list.

3. Clear Credit Cards by April.

I haven’t been as strict as I should be on paying them off, but by the end of April, I should be at least half way there. I have a new budget that focuses on putting money in to them. I’m not too worried about my credit cards at the moment – it’s under control.

4. Save $1000 for Melbourne.

Done and done. :D

5. Be exercising 200 minutes per week by January.

I keep putting this off. Maybe when I’m not working as much, I’ll get back to fitness first, or go for jogs or something.

6. Buy a computer.

I think I was referring to an iMac. That’s definitely something still on this years wish-list. There’s a lot of other things to buy first though, so we’ll see how we go. Hopefully I can buy Talia one for Christmas.

7. Save $1000 for honeymoon in November.

Well the honeymoon is in October now – but I think I can still achieve this goal without too much hassle. Just got to stick to the budget, you know?

8. Start my own business by March.

Too soon to start my own business, but Michael and I are in negotiations in regards to starting a joint venture. It will happen, I’d say, after I get married. Unless Mike wants it now – then maybe in the next few months, once he’s moved in.

9. Read productively for one hour per day.

I’m not doing this. It’s the same as exercise, I just can’t find the time. I’ll pull my act together when I have more time. Soon – promise.

10. Move into city by April.

Well, it just happened this month – so I’m even early on this goal. Now you can’t chide me for being late on reading and exercising.

So that’s that. I’d like to just add one more to that list…

11. Get license.

Otherwise Talia won’t marry me. :(
