Christmas #3
That’s right, folks, I’ve had three Christmases this year. Woohoo for me.
The third Christmas happened at Nanna and Pa’s house. The whole Carbis’ family were there, all four generations of us. The oldest, Gran & Bill, stormed out half way through lunch because of some passing joking comment made about Bill’s brother by my Dad, causing a family blue that will last at least a few years, and costing Hannah the inheritance of a $12,000 ring.

But then, I guess we all expected it.
All the men (except me) were drunk by 12. All the women were gossiping. We gorged ourselves on a big Christmas lunch, and an even bigger Christmas desert. We laughed, had fights, swore, drank, talked, bragged and ate. Except me, I just missed T. I had 3 beers, but they were spread out between 11am and 7pm.
It hailed this morning, was sunny at 9, rained at 10, was sunny for lunch, before it became overcast and dreary for the afternoon. And cold. It’s currently 11° C. I’m freezing.
And another screwed up thing about Melbourne. I stepped outside at 7pm and had to put on my sunglasses. It was still as bright as 3pm should be. The days are absolutely ridiculous. It’s almost 9 now, and the sun is only just going down. It’s still very light outside.
Okay, so here’s a list of the presents I got for Christmas.
1. $50
It’s for T and I to share. From Gran and Bill.
2. $30 Coles/Myers (liquor land) voucher
We all got one. From Nanna & Pa. Mum even got one, it read: Dear Marlou, Happy Birthday. I think they recycled a forgotten present from a while back.
3. $30 Just Jeans gift voucher
From Uncle Greg and Auntie Eyes. Much needed. I can get some new clothes now. Hooray for Post-Christmas sales.
4. Chocolate
I think Pa got it for free. It’s kinda gross. It’s got Marshmallows’ in it. Do you want it?
5. A Coffee Maker!
A present from Nanna and Pa, our very own coffee maker, for T and I. This is going in my new house. Even though T doesn’t really drink coffee, not do I unless I’m at work.
Okay, well, I have to go find something to do around this part of Melbourne in these ridiculous temperatures.
Catch me later.
